When voters elected me in 2018, 2020 and 2024, they knew exactly who they were voting for: an honest, empathetic community voice who will listen to every side of an issue and work across our differences to deliver results. Here are my priorities as your next Solano County Supervisor:
Preserve Our Agricultural Land and Heritage
When my family first moved to Solano County, they picked crops in the fields before working at the American Home Foods cannery. Agriculture has always been one of Solano County’s most important industries, and our farmers, ranchers and vintners generate more than $400 million in annual revenue. I’ll fight to protect our water and make sure the County’s General Plan and Urban Limit Line continue to preserve agricultural land. As Supervisor, I’ll make sure the County continues to support the businesses and employees that feed Californians and export products to more than 30 countries.
Support Public Safety and Our First Responders
I have a proven track record of supporting our firefighters and law enforcement with the staffing, resources and the training needed to protect our people and our property. Growing up in Vacaville, my friends and I were often the target of stop-and-frisk policies; on the City Council, I’ve worked with the Vacaville Police Department to establish and support positive relationships in the community and build trust between residents and law enforcement.
Develop Our Local Economy
Solano County is losing facilities like the Budweiser brewery and the Mare Island Dry Dock, and we need economic development leadership at the County level. On the City Council, I have successfully advocated for tens of millions of dollars to be reinvested in Vacaville's small businesses and local infrastructure. I’ll fight for County investment to build up small businesses and attract large employers in growing industries.
Address Homelessness and Create and Preserve Housing for All Income Levels
Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. I advocated for and approved the first four affordable senior and workforce housing developments for Vacaville in the past 20 years, and I will continue to work at the County level to provide housing that is attainable and affordable to seniors, families and workers. I believe smart growth and infill developments should be incentivized, but always in collaboration with local residents and their concerns.
Invest in Our Youth and Our Communities
I know from my own life experience growing up in Vacaville that investing in our youth and communities absolutely changes lives. That’s why I’m committed to my own children and our local Boy Scout troop. On the Board of Supervisors, I will invest in public spaces and community events that bring people together and build culture and togetherness. At a time when the Federal government is cutting nutrition assistance, health care funding and other basic needs, I will find ways to increase access to help so that our children, our seniors and those who are struggling can have a helping hand to get back on their feet.
